Understanding Access & Outcomes

Lead Researchers: Don Clairmont and Diane Crocker

This project will examine differentials in access to RJ, processes used and outcomes on the basis of race/ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status or other minority/disadvantaged groups.

This project will draw first on official data collected through the Criminal Justice System and the agencies charged with delivering RJ program.  We will also administer a questionnaire to officials who make referrals to the RJ program to identify the reasons behind the patterns that we identify in the official data. How officials make decisions on referrals is one explanation that will be the focus of this project.  This project will aim to better understand what factors inform officials' decisions to refer to the NSRJP.
